Eco Drumming: Women’s Drumming in Nature

For millienia, many ancient cultures across the world have used the Drum to call people together. It connects us the primordial rhythm of life – that of our heart beat. Studies have shown that when we gather together to drum, sing and unite, we generate a kindness and compassion as the beat of the drum carries our prayers and intentions beyond our physical selves.

Research of Layne Redmond shows that historically, Women were the very first Drummers of the world, dating back to 2380BC and possibly earlier.  These hand held Frame Drums are among the oldest known musical instruments to exist.

These Drums were used in Spiritual Practices and rituals as the women connected to the Divine Mystery.  

In today’s world more and more women are rediscovering their ancient birthright and returning to the drum to recover an important spiritual connection to health and to one another. We now invite the Drum back into our lives as a tool of healing and transformation. Through this drumming we invite creativity, sacredness, a connection to nature and to bring more meaning back into our lives.

For Women’s Drumming in nature, Anne-Marie has hand crafted each Medicine Drum which has been made in the tradition of the Native Americans, honouring the animals, the trees, birds and stones. Along with this we use the elements of earth, air,  water and fire spirits that become a part of this spiritual process. Aho.

You don’t need any musical experience to join Women’s Eco Drumming . All Drums and percussion is supplied for your session.

Our healing begins as we call back to ourselves the rhythms and sounds that belong to us – reclaiming parts of us that have gone missing and returning to our birthright of Wholeness.
