Drumming Up Wellness

Anyone who has experienced a drum circle, knows the transformative effect of rhythm. It moves, inspires and thrills. Drums are tools that connect us on a deep rhythmic level. Drumming is an interactive community activity that promotes well being and life enhancement.

The Drumming up Wellness for Mind-Body-Spirit- Drum Circle, is simply a group of people who have come together to connect , to have fun and create rhythms using drums and percussion. Drumming is mostly done with hands and or mallets. It can be noisy, fun, and family friendly where people can share their drumming spirit with others.

These Drumming Up Wellness Drum Circles are not performance based and you don’t need to have any musical experience or even be able read music. It’s just about sharing your personal music and rhythmical spirit as you connect with others in the community.

Everyone who comes and participates has something to offer the circle, and any one is welcome. Rhythm is a universal language known to every one.

Each Drumming Up Wellness Drum Circle builds co-operation and collaboration from each participant as it begins to  connect the people in the Drumming Circle. It brings moments of inspiration, creativity, reflection and fun. It is always "in the moment,".

When we drum together as a community, we share our spirit in the form of rhythm, and it changes our relationships for the positive.

As we play together, we give ourselves a rhythmical massage, an a emotional release and a healing. The release and healing is different for every person that is in the rhythm circle, and it happens whether we are entraining ourselves into the circle by drumming, or standing outside the circle and listening while tapping our feet and clapping along with the music.

That is the beauty of a community drum circle.

This is what drumming can do for you!

  • Drumming is for everyone – no rhythmical experience is necessary

  • Drumming reduces stress and boosts the immune system

  • Drumming produces deeper self-awareness by inducing synchronous brain activity (Hemispheric Coordination) and promoting alpha waves

  • Drumming helps to releases negative feelings and emotional trauma

  • Drumming helps us to connect with self and others

  • Drumming provides a path by which we may access a higher power

  • Drumming grounds us in the present moment
